Stationery and Office Supplies:

Stationery and Office Supplies Department procures paper, paper products, stationery items, typewriters etc. After completing codal formalities through the State Level Central Purchase Committee constituted by the Government for the purpose. The Committee is headed by the Director S &OS. Procurement of stationery and allied items is normally done through national level tenders.

The quality of material thus procured is checked and verified by another committee i.e. Survey Committee. This Survey Committee ensures quality of the items purchased by both the presses.

Director S&OS notifies rate contracts of fax-Machines, Copy printers, Charcoal, Steel Trunks, and Waste Paper etc. through Central Purchase Committee and also appoints Government Auctioneer for unserviceable damaged/condemned items of various departments.

The Department is contemplating to resort to e-tendering and e-procurement from the next financial year to make the entire process in a transparent manner.

Winding up of Stationery and office Supplies


As the purchases of the Stationery and electronic gadgets etc. are being effected by the Govt. Departments through Gem Portal and the functioning of Directorate of Stationery and Office Supplies has become immaterial resulting in Winding-up of the Department of Stationery and Office Supplies, which is presently under active consideration of the department.
